Shiva Dances, Op. 171 (Bb, BC, Piano) (Michael Kibbe)

A challenging work of three movements (plus two interludes), this 13 minute, grade V+ piece uses the programmatic notion of the Hindu god Shiva in this unusual instrumental combination. Contains a great deal of dance-like, rhythmic interplay with a tip of the compositional hat to the rhythm and scale constructions of Olivier Messiaen.
